OUR CURRENT PROGRAM
PRIORITIES
Community Farm Building
The RC&D focus on creating community farms is a program
of developing and demonstrating different models of
community farm operation in our four-county Area.
Technical assistance, project development, consulting,
and community farm incubation.
Ongoing (*) and potential projects within this
program:
Agricultural Economic Development
To implement a vibrant local community food system, we
need a network of strong entrepreneurs pursuing their
passions through business ventures. Capacity-building in
this sector is critical to the success of the RC&D
goals.
Ongoing (*) and potential projects:
Agricultural Integrated Water Resources Management
As nearly 70% of water use is for the growing of crops,
addressing water use in agricultural operations is vital
to the future of sustainable communities. The RC&D is
taking a business-friendly approach of integrated water
resources management in agricultural operations using
new technologies such as automation of integrated
sources of water.
